Musical Meeting "Schaeffer electronically"

SchaefferThe concert "Schaeffer electronically" will be broadcast on 19 January 2021 at 2.00 p.m. on RadioJAZZ.FM as part of the JazzPRESSjonizm show led by Piotr Wickowski, editor-in-chief of the JazzPRESS magazine. It is a musical fusion of seemingly distant high and alternative cultures, showing their common, experimental roots.

The electronic music concert based on the work of Bogusław Schaeffer is a part of the 12th edition of the "Schaeffer's Era" festival and complements the main event, which took place on 23 November 2020 as an online broadcast of the play "Schaeffer's Planet" connecting artists from L.A. and Warsaw. The concert is organised on the initiative of the Aurea Porta Friends of Arts Foundation, which deals with the promotion of contemporary art, and in particular with the promotion of Bogusław Schaeffer's artistic output. The aim of the project "Schaeffer electronically" is to reach a new audience with Schaeffer's music – enthusiasts of contemporary art in Poland and abroad, including young people – on the example of live art in a multidisciplinary version of electronic music creators. The recorded material will be available after the radio broadcast on social media channels (YouTube, Facebook) of the Aurea Porta Foundation.

As part of the "Schaeffer electronically" event, musicians Mateusz Adamczyk and Piotr Zaufal will perform 8 pieces for piano part II, Monosonata, Streichquartett, 4H / 1P, Equivalenze Sonore, Course Jazz, Collage and Form from the repertoire of Professor Schaeffer. Both artists were nominated for the Fryderyk Award in the category of classical chamber music for the album Magia del Tango, recorded with Marcin Wyrostek and the Corazon band, with whom they have been taking part in the "Schaeffer's Era" festival for several years. Mateusz Adamczyk – instrumentalist, violinist, session musician, operates between various musical genres, from classical and jazz to electronic music. He is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice and Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona. Piotr "Cufal" Zaufal – bassist, arranger, session musician (he has recorded about 30 albums in bands from Silesia), graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He has played over 700 concerts with Marcin Wyrostek in the bands Coloriage and Corazon, over 50 concerts with Kayah, about 30 concerts with Mateusz Adamczyk and the international group The Johny Freelance Experience.

The project was carried out in cooperation with the National Centre for Culture and was financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and co-financed by the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Self-Government.
