The National Forum of Music invites you to the 56th International Festival Wratislavia Cantans. On 3-12 September 2021 Wrocław and other cities of Lower Silesia will celebrate the beauty of the human voice. The theme of this year's edition is "Crossing Borders".
In the history of music, boundaries have been crossed on many levels. The greatest works were written by brave, uncompromising artists ready to break the existing conventions and schemes. Also, lesser-known artists often combined musical genres and styles. The programme of this year's edition of the festival will be an opportunity to listen to great performers interpreting compositions created over many eras. Among them, there will be both Renaissance masterpieces and works written in the 20th century. The festival will be inaugurated by Witold Lutosławski' Straw Chain and other childrenʼs pieces for soprano, mezzo-soprano, flute, oboe, 2 clarinets and bassoon
World-class stars will perform, including singers: Magdalena Kožená, Agata Zubel and Joanna Freszel, and the ensembles: Il Giardino Armonico with the festival's Artistic Director Giovanni Antonini, Duncan Ward and NFM Wrocław Philharmonic, Huelgas Ensemble, Quatuor Mosaïques, Klangforum Wien, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Lawrence Foster and Wrocław Baroque Ensemble under the baton of Andrzej Kosendiak.
Ticket sales will start on 28 April at 11.00 a.m.
