The Composition and Music Theory Student Research Group of the Academy of Music in Łódź invites you on 8 May 2021 at 6.00 p.m. for the concert of organ premieres. New works will be performed by the members of the Organ Student Research Group of the Academy of Music in Łódź. The concert will be broadcast on the Academy's YouTube channel.
The Composition and Music Theory Student Research Group, supervised by Artur Zagajewski and Maciej Kabza, focuses mainly on theoretical-musical research and compositional pursuits. Students of composition, music theory, film music composition and music in the media organiser, among others, meetings dedicated to the works of particular composers, currents and phenomena of the 20th- and 21st-century music, as well as concerts presenting compositions written by young composers belonging to the Group. What makes an annual tradition is "The (theoretically) Compositional Concert”, during which works written at counterpoint and harmony classes are performed.
The upcoming concert will feature Martyna Nowak's Multipreludium, Krzysztof Sadecki's Mirror, Piotr Grzelak's Adagio e allegro, Grzegorz Żyłka's Swell Potente, Piotr Mika's orghanella, Jakub Jung's CoeXisT, Tymoteusz Karaś-Tęcza's par-ti-ta, Kosma Szust's Double Fugue. The event will be hosted by Piotr Mika, secretary of the Scientific Society for Composition and Theory of Music.
The works will be performed on the Rieger (Jägerndorf) organ of the Evangelical-Augsburg church of St Matthew in Łódź.
