Prague Spring Festival at Your Home!

praska wiosnaThanks to the partnership between the network of Czech Centres and the festival "Pražské jaro", four excellent concerts of the 76th Prague Spring Festival will be available on the Czech Centre Warsaw Facebook page on 12, 20, 26 May and 3 June 2021 at 8.00 p.m.

This year, for the second time, viewers around the world will be able to watch live broadcasts of the world-famous music festival concerts at the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House of Representatives through the network of Czech Centres. Czech centres on 3 continents will make 4 concerts available to their viewers directly on their Facebook pages.

Performing Smetana’s Má vlast (My Country) at the opening concert will be Collegium 1704 and the conductor Václav Luks. The concert "On the wings of dance" will include George Enescu's Romanian rhapsody, Op. 11, Camille Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28, and Igor Stravinsky's The Firebird suite performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ion Marina.

One of the most talented young Czech conductors, František Macek, who has also performed in Scandinavia and Poland, will perform during the "Prague Spring Debut" concert. The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra under his direction will present, among others, Witold Lutosławski's Little Suite. The closing concert will feature works by Gustav Mahler, Benjamin Britten and Ludwig van Beethoven performed by tenor Petr Nekoranec and the Czech Philharmonic under the direction of Mark Wigglesworth.
