Tauron Eco Concert on 4 June 2021 at 7.00 p.m. will feature Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the music of Grieg and Górecki. The Silesian Chamber Orchestra invites you to this musical meeting together with its director, Piotr Pławner, who will not only lead the orchestra but also perform the violin solo.
Concerto-Notturno by Mikołaj Piotr Górecki, which will open the concert, has been very popular since its premiere in 2001. The composition consists of three movements played attacca. The title notturno is perfectly audible, especially in the first movement. The second movement is a show of the soloist's virtuosity, and the third one – the shortest – is a reference to the beginning of the piece, calm in character, with improvisation in the solo violin part.
The programme will also include From Holberg's Time, Suite in the Old Style by Edvard Grieg, composed on the the 200th anniversary of the birth of the title Scandinavian writer. The evening will end with the famous Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. These four concertos for solo violin and chamber orchestra vividly illustrate the changing seasons of the year.
