Korzkiew | Summer Music Festival „Muzyczna Korzkiew”

Muzyczna KorzkiewThe Summer Music Festival „Muzyczna Korzkiew” is a series of artistic events that play an important role in the cultural life in the region of Kraków-Częstochowa Jura. Weekly concerts, as well as meetings with artists and culture animators, will take place every Sunday between 27 June and 29 Autust 2021 at 5:15 p.m. in the historic Nativity of St. John the Baptist Church in Korzkiew, which is famous for its unique acoustics.

After a break in 2020, when cultural life was practically stopped, the Festival returns in 2021 with hope for the better. The festival has been organized since 2011 by the "Muzyczna Korzkiew" Association, whose activity is based on enabling closer contact with high-class music, as well as the promotion of young artists and music and cultural animation in the nearby area.

This year's edition of the Festival will feature outstanding works by world-class composers, including those from Poland: Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Sonatas, selected piano works by Fryderyk Chopin – including the Piano Concerto in E minor with the accompaniment of a string quartet, Piano Trios by Józef Haydn, Franciszek Lessel, Andrzej Panufnik, Sergiusz Rachmaninow and Ludomir Różycki, works for wind quintet by Wojciech Kilar, Jacques Ibert and Malcolm Arnold, song cycles by Modest Musorgski and Ralph Vaughan-Williams, as well as original compositions for solo piano by Dominik Wania.

During the upcoming edition of the Festival, there will be performances by artsists such as: Cracow Golden Quintet, Farve Ensemble, Daniel Stabrawa, Mirosław Herbowski and Jacek Ozimkowski, Mariola Cieniawa Puchała with Ewa Miecznikowska and Kazimierz Olechowski, Aleksandra Dąbek and Mateusz Dubiel, Sławomir Cierpik and Piotr Bylica, Katarzyna Vernet with Krzysztof Katana and Krzysztof Sadłowski, as well as young Polish winners of significant music competitions.

Admission to all concerts is free.
