Toruń | 8th "Per Musicam ad Astra" International Copernicus Choir Festival

Per musicamThe "Astrolabium" Society of Choral Music Enthusiasts in collaboration with the German agency Meeting Music invites you to the 8th edition of the "Per musicam ad astra" International Copernicus Choir Festival. In 2021, the event will take place on 26-30 June in Toruń with the participation of the invited choirs.

The name of the International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition refers to the figure and work of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who was born in Toruń in 1473. The city full of history and music, beautifully situated on both banks of the Vistula, is the perfect setting for the event. One can follow in the footsteps of Copernicus and reach "Per musicam ad astra" together with the artists  through music to the stars! The festival will present choral music in its full spectrum, performed by renowned vocal ensembles at the Artus Court, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Church of the Blessed Father Stefan Frelichowski.

The Festival will open with the performance of the male vocal quartet Thios Omilos from Leipzig. At the Gala Concert, the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir under the direction of Bartosz Michałowski will perform pieces by Paweł Łukaszewski, Miłosz Bembinow and James MacMillan. Art'n'Voices vocal group will present songs from their latest album Midnight stories. The culmination of "Per musicam ad astra" 2021 will be the performance of Misatango – Misa a Buenos Aires by Martin Palmeri.

Tickets can be collected from 21 June at the box office of the Artus Court and one hour before the concert on site.
