Ignacy Paderewski. Patriot and Philanthropist: online concert premiere

PaderewskiThe Culture and Art Foundation invites you to a free online concert in memory of Ignacy Paderewski which will premiere on 29 June 2021 at 8.00 p.m. at: www.paderewski.fkis.org. The programme of the event, organised to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of the Great Pole, will include works by Chopin and Paderewski performed by international artists.

Ignacy Paderewski was a citizen of the world, a statesman, diplomat, virtuoso, composer, advocate of independent Poland, and above all a great patriot. The planned concert will bring closer the insufficiently known ethos of charity and philanthropy of the Great Pole, who distributed most of his fortune, especially supporting those who fought for Poland's freedom. There will also be interesting facts and little-known archival materials provided, among others, by the Piłsudski Institute in New York, the Polish Museum of America, the Polish Music Center, and USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles.

We will hear classical pieces by Fryderyk Chopin and Ignacy Paderewski as well as jazz arrangements by Krzysztof Herdzin. The concert will be performed by: Russian pianist Julianna Awdiejewa – the winner of the 16th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, American pianist Eric Lu – the 4th prize winner of the 17th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Krzysztof Herdzin, Magdalena Idzik, Marek Bracha and Kamil Pacholec. We will also see the Wrocław Opera Ballet Soloists: Hannah Ho and Robert Kędziński.
