Gorzów | Chopin Picnics

PiknikiA series of open-air concerts known as "Chopin Picnics" will begin on 4 July 2021. Every Sunday (except 15 August), until the last holiday weekend, the green areas around the Gorzów Philharmonic will turn into a unique city picnic, accompanied by the sounds of the most beautiful live classical music.

The "Chopin Picnics" have become a permanent element of the calendar of outdoor summer events in Gorzów. This year's edition will feature talented young pianists: Michał Mossakowski, Marcin Wieczorek, Małgorzata Rusak, Adam Kałduński, Viet Trung Nguyen (Vietnam / Poland), Ekaterina Matokh (Belarus) and Matteo Zoli (Italy). Apart from compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, the concert repertoire will also include works of world piano literature, from Johann Sebastian Bach to Maurice Ravel. The concerts will always start at 6.00 p.m. and will last about two hours.

On 22 August, Michał Szymanowski, assistant at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and Łódź, will present a programme composed exclusively of works by Polish composers. We will hear pieces by Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski, Miłosz Magin, Zygmunt Stojowski, Maurycy Moszkowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Zygmunt Stojowski and Józef Wieniawski.

Admission to all summer concerts is free.
