The National Institute of Music and Dance in cooperation with PWM Edition invites you to a music criticism workshop led by Jacek Marczyński as part of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (14-18 September 2021). The best participants will receive an internship in the editorial office of "Ruch Muzyczny" magazine which will publish their texts. The deadline for submitting applications is 12 August 2021.
"The task of the participants of the journalism workshops will be to create reports and reviews of the auditions of the 2nd stage and the finals of the International Polish Music Competition in two performance categories: piano and chamber ensembles," comments Katarzyna Meissner, director of the National Institute of Music and Dance. The workshop will be conducted by Jacek Marczyński – a well-known journalist and publicist, author of several books, reviewer of the "Rzeczpospolita" daily, longtime collaborator of TVP Kultura, "Ruch Muzyczny" and the monthly "Teatr".
Texts reporting on the progress of the competition will be published in a daily competition newsletter, on the website of the International Polish Music Competition https://konkursmuzykipolskiej.pl/ and in the pages of "Ruch Muzyczny".
The workshop is aimed at students and graduates of music and humanities, as well as all people with specific musical interests consistent with the profile of the competition, who want to develop their skills in the field of writing about classical music (adults up to 30 years of age). Participation in the workshop is free of charge. The National Institute of Music and Dance will reimburse workshop participants for accommodation and travel costs in the amount specified in the regulations and will provide free admission to auditions and concerts of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów. For texts and a license to publish them, each participant will receive a one-off fee of PLN 500.
