Warsaw | Opening of the 2021/2022 Concert Season of the Warsaw Philharmonic

FNOn 18 September 2021 at 6.00 p.m. the Warsaw Philharmonic opens a unique concert season and invites you to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the institution.

The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir under the baton of their artistic director Andrzej Boreyko will perform Krzysztof Penderecki's Lacrimosa from Polish Requiem (soloist Olga Pasiecznik), Piotr Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23 (pianist Krzysztof Jabłoński) and Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in G major. The Saturday's concert will be broadcast live on the Philharmonic's YouTube channel.

The opening concert will be preceded by an introductory lecture by Andrzej Sułek, Head of the Music Editorial Office of Polish Radio Channel 2 (18 September, 5 p.m.). On the occasion of the premiere of his book Dyrygowanie. Sprawa życia i śmierci [Conducting. A matter of life and death], a meeting with Antoni Wit will be held on 19 September at 5 p.m. Also, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra's newest album and its first album conducted by Andrzej Boreyko will be available to buy on site.
