Łódź | Leonora Armellini - Inaugurating concert of the 21st Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition

On the 3rd of April 2022 at 6 p.m. an inaugurating concert of the 21st Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition will take place at the Music Academy in Łódź. Laureate of the 5th award at the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition Leonora Armellini will perform Piano Quintet in E flat major Op. 44 of Robert Schumann and Piano Concerto in F minor Op. 21 by Fryderyk Chopin.

The Italian pianist, award winner and pedagogue will perform together with Sławomir Wilga (violin), Dominika Przech (violin), Nela Zaforemska (viola), Agata Nowak (cello) and Michał Sobuś (double bass).

The Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź is the oldest chamber music competition in Poland founded in 1961. Members of the jury will be: Łukasz Błaszczyk, Massimiliano Caldi, Michał Drewnowski, Alexander Hintchev, Agata Igras, Yair Kless, Włodzimierz Zalewski and Sylwia Michalik

Musicians from almost 20 countries, 77 chamber music groups altogether will take part in the 1st stage of the competition. Auditions will be held between 4th and 7th of April.

The event is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Italian Cultural Institute and Artists Performers Union STOART.
