Wroclaw | Avner Biron & Israel Camerata Jerusalem

The programme of the Israel Camerata Jerusalem concert on the 7th of April 2022 at 7 p.m. conducted by Avner Biron, includes works composed by Viennese Classicists and composers closer to the present – created in the 20th century - by Krzysztof Penderecki and the Israeli composer Menachem Wiesenberg. Together with the musicians of the chamber orchestra, Szymon Nehring will perform, the winner of the prestigious International Master Piano Competition ‘Arthur Rubinstein’ in Tel Aviv in 2017. The concert will take place in the National Music Forum in Wrocław.

Krzysztof Penderecki’s Polish Requiem is a monumental composition of exceptional importance. It took the composer many years to create the work, starting in the 1980s. One of the most famous parts of the work – Chaconne – will be heard during the evening. The composer used fragments of Latin liturgical texts of the funeral mass and referred to works belonging to this genre by such artists as Orlando di Lasso, Giuseppe Verdi or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor is one of the most appreciated compositions among Mozart’s concertos.

The musicians will also present An Overture for StringsHomage to Mendelssohn by the leading Israeli composer Menachem Wiesenberg, dynamic in character, and at the same time a tribute to the great Romantic. Symphony No. 4 in B flat major op. 60 by Ludwig van Beethoven will close the concert.
