Opole | 'Treny Katyńskie'. Concert on the anniversary of Katyn massacre

Katyn Massacre Remembrance Day - a national holiday celebrated on the 13th of April, on the anniversary of the publication of information about the discovery of mass graves of Polish Army officers in the USSR. The event taking place on the 11th of April 2022 at 11.00 at the Józef Elsner Opole Philharmonic organized by the Institute of National Remembrance, the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Opole, is part of the programme of this year's events accompanying the Katyn Massacre Remembrance Day.

‘Treny Katyńskie’ composed by Adam Tański for a string-wind sextet and solo voice will be performed during the concert.

The ensemble will be led by Tomasz Chyła during the concert and the soloist will be countertenor Sławomir Bronk. The interdisciplinary character of the project will be complemented by the poetry of Władysław Sebyła, choreography of Paweł Kozłowski and multimedia visualizations by Paula Jaszczyk.

The honorary patronage over the event was assumed by Prof. Piotr Gliński Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
