On the 1st of September, 2022 the premiere of the Wieluń Oratory by Krzesimir Dębski, performed by the PRIMUZ Chamber Orchestra under the composer's baton, took place at 9.00 p.m. at the Municipal Market in Wieluń.
The work was written to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the World War II outbreak as part of the ‘Culture – Interventions’ programme carried out by the National Center for Culture. Composed by Krzesimir Dębski with text by Zuzanna Kozendra, the Wieluń Oratory is a symbol of despair and forgiveness, tragedy and love.
The premiere ends the celebration of the 83rd anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Wieluń - the first Polish city to have been bombed by the Luftwaffe. The world-famous Polish mezzo-soprano Urszula Kryger performed as a soloist. The concert will be preceded by a performance by an ensemble Lejdissimo, led by Zofia Szpikowska.
