Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
On the 20th of January, 2023 at 19.00 violinist Wojciech Niedziółka and pianist Michał Francuz will perform works by Henryk Wieniawski, Ludwig van Beethoven and Karol Szymanowski.
The 19-year-old virtuoso is a semi-finalist and the highest-ranked Pole that took part in the 16th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań, as well as the finalist of the ‘International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists’ in Weimar. Wojciech Niedziółka works with the Krzysztof Penderecki European Center for Music in Lusławice as a soloist in the ‘Prezentacje’ programme and is a concertmaster of the ‘Penderecki Youth Orchestra’. He is a laureate of the scholarship programme of the National Center for Culture – ‘Young Poland’.
The compositions selected by the musicians are part of the competition programme. New interpretations of Legend and Fantasia brillante on themes from the opera ‘Faust’ by Ch. Gounod op. 20 by Henryk Wieniawski and The Fountain of Arethusa from the Myths by Karol Szymanowski.
