Sanok | 4th International Organ and Chamber Music Festival and 3rd National Young Organist Competition

Sanok 26.5.23On May 19-26, the 4th International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music took place in Sanok and the surrounding towns. The festival was accompanied by the 3rd National Competition for Young Organists, which gathered 14 participants - students of secondary music schools from all over Poland, including from Cracow, Tarnów, Rzeszów, Koszalin, Wrocław, Rybnik, Gliwice, Poznań, Konin, Bielsko-Biała.

The festival began with a concert for organ and chamber orchestra in the parish church the Transfiguration in Sanok. Piotr Rojek played the organ, the orchestra was conducted by Adam Banaszak. Two compositions by Katarzyna Dziewiątkowska were premiered: Shiva and Extravaganza.

Among artist from abroad were: Beata Halska Le Monnier - violinist with Polish roots, living and giving concerts in Paris, France, Kamil Kulawiak - organist associated with the Cathedral of St. Peter in Bautzen, Germany, as well as Hei Ching Lam - an organist from Hong Kong - and Gael Arbona Illada, trombonist from Spain.

Among the invited Polish artists were: Bogdan Makal, Joanna Woszczyk-Garbacz, Jakub Garbacz, Radosław Pujanek with a chamber orchestra and a unique vocal ensemble Art`N`Voices.

Polish music in Nairobi

Nairobi 18.2.23On the 18th of February, 2023, an unusual concert of Polish classical music took place at the Amphitheater of the National Museum in Nairobi as part of the TPAAE project, which received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme. During their month-long stay at the Kenyatta University in Nairobi, the lecturers of the Academy of Art in Szczecin conduct masterclasses with students of the Department of Music and Dance, give lectures and concerts.

The artists of the hot afternoon were: Prof. Sylwia Burnicka-Kalischewska (soprano), Alicja Pilarczyk (violin) and Dominik Wizjan (piano).

The National Museum resounded mainly with Polish music, and more precisely with the songs of Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Polish Caprice by Grażyna Bacewicz and Legend Op. 17 by Henryk Wieniawski. There were also European accents, such as Lullyby for Lalit by George Benjamin, or songs by Richard Wagner (Schmerzen) and Richard Strauss (Zueignung).

Reportaż z projektu SEROCKI #100

Serocki100YouTubePatronat medialny nad projektem objęło Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.

We wrześniu 2022 roku, realizacją projektu SEROCKI#100, Toruńska Orkiestra Symfoniczna uczciła setną rocznicę urodzin pochodzącego z Torunia Kazimierza Serockiego, jednego z najwybitniejszych kompozytorów współczesnych, autora m.in. muzyki do wielki dzieł kinematografii polskiej - Potopu, Krzyżaków. W ramach projektu SEROCKI#100 wykonane zostały prapremierowo dzieła zarówno muzyki elektronicznej, fortepianowej i filmowej.

Projekt SEROCKI#100 został zainaugurowany w marcu 2022 r. koncertem, podczas którego zaprezentowany został specjalnie na tę okazję skomponowany utwór Hommage à Serocki. Główne jego obchody odbyły się we wrześniu 2022 r. , kiedy to zostało zrealizowanych 18 wydarzeń w tym 3 koncerty symfoniczne, 1 kameralny a także recital oraz wykłady.
