"Musique est une femme" competition: Internet users can now vote for the best video on stereotypes about women composers!

TAK

Very inspiring and diverse films were submitted by candidates from various parts of Europe to the "Musique est une femme" competition. The competition is part of the European project of the same name co-financed by the Creative Europe programme and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The project leader is the TAK Foundation.

The subject of the Competition was broad: it could have been a reflection on the stereotypes about the creative abilities of women, a personal discovery of music by composers who were active before the first half of the 20th century, or a presentation of interesting details of their biography. The video could be in the form of a meme or a more serious one. The highest prize of € 650 will be awarded by internet users to the work that addresses the subject of the Competition in the most interesting way.

You can vote for the submitted works until 27 Septmber 2020 at: https://fundacjatak.pl/en/musique-est-une-femme/

Other partners of the project are Handelsbeurs Concert Hall (Belgium), Molyvos International Music Festival (Greece), Cesis Concert Hall (Latvia) and additionally, in Poland, the New Chamber Orchestra Foundation and the Meakultura Foundation.

"New Sounds" Original Vlog on Avant-Garde Performance Techniques

Nowe brzmienia

Original vlog for composers and performers of contemporary music "Nowe Brzmienia" ["New Sounds"] @ModernViola consists of seven full presentations with discussions and examples of new performance techniques of contemporary classical music presented on the viola and relevant to the whole group of string instruments.

The aim of the vlog is to supplement the practical knowledge of the adepts of musical art, which so far required personal consultations between composers and performers. The original vlog was prepared by Aleksandra Demowska-Madejska, doctor of musical arts, member of the Hashtag Ensemble.

It contains a review of the most up-to-date music notation types and performace techniques of the 21st-century music. The examples come from works by Polish composers, including artists of the young generation.

The project is carried out as part of the "Culture on the network" scholarship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

New lectures will be posted every Thursday from 17 September to 29 October 2020 on the YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/aleksandrademowskamadejska
