Poznań | 5. Stefana Stuligrosza Polish Choral Grand Prix

GrandPrix 23The Polish Choral Grand Prix in 2023 will be held for the fifth time, on November 24-26 in Poznań (main events).

This year's main theme is Polish folk music. The event will be inaugurated with a concert with the participation of the OSTY band, the Poznań Chamber Choir conducted by Bartosz Michałowski and the VOŁOSI band. Special guests will be: Adam Strug and Kapela Odloty. This unique event in the country - the "competition of competitions" - will be accompanied by workshops and discussions.

Lublin | Premiere of a book by Maria Ziarkowska "Andrzej Cwojdziński. Man and Work"”

On the 18th of December, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Crown Tribunal in Lublin there will be a meeting with Dr. Maria Ziarkowska - author of the book entitled “Andrzej Cwojdziński. Man and Work.”

The book was published by Witold Lutosławski Primary and Secondary Music School in Lublin thanks to funding by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund as part of the "Musical Trace" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

Warszawa | Premiere of a choreographic show "Encore" in Hashtag Lab

Encore 23 11 23"Encore" - a choreographic show about love with live music by Lucia Długoszewski (1925-2000), an American composer, student of John Cage and Edgar Varèse, choreographer and inventor - will premiere on the 23rd of November, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Hashtag Lab. Liwia Bargieł-Kiełbowicz and Stanisław Bulder will dance in the modernist villa at Barska 29. Show aimed for ages 16 and up.

“The show 'Encore' is my return to contemplative, metaphysical art. My reflection turns towards love. I look at it at its core, as a primal, pure creative force. We have different motivations to act, but it is love that seems to be the most uplifting to me," says choreographer and dancer Liwia Bargieł-Kiełbowicz.

The music by Lucia Długoszewski will be performed by Zofia Dutkiewicz (flute), Martyna Kułakowska (piano) and Olga Przybył (drums).

Warsaw | 5th 'Eufonie': Sale of an additional pool of tickets to the concert with music to the film 'Peasants' begins on the 10th of November

Created in painterly animation, The Peasants, directed by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman, is a new look at the prose of Władysław Reymont. Music to the film was created by Lukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski and the Rebel Babel Orchestras, taking inspiration from the folk soundscape of Central and Eastern Europe. It will be performed on the 18th of November at 7:30 pm at the Warsaw Philharmonic.

4 years of intensive work, more than 200,000 hours spent painting images by more than 100 artists working in four studios: in Poland, Ukraine, Serbia and Lithuania. This effect is highlighted by the musical setting, which will be presented during the festival by L.U.C. & Rebel Babel Orchestras, Bela Komoszyńska, Maria Pomianowska (Biłgorajska suka), the Song Laboratory and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Anna Sułkowska-Migoń.

Łódź | 11. AŻ Festival of the Music Academy in Łódź

AZ Festiwal 23The Academy of Music in Łódź invites you to the eleventh edition of the AŻ Festival at the Academy Concert Hall in Żubardzka street. The programme of eight events planned from the 18th of November to the 3rd of December, 2023 will satisfy every audience, as it will include: musical, new music, jazz, pop music, percussion music, chamber music and finally symphonic music.

Academy Ensembles will perform: Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, Jazz Orchestra, PRIMUZ Chamber Orchestra, New Music Instrumental Ensemble, Bacewicz Percussion Ensemble, Academy Choir and guests - New Music Orchestra and Gdańsk Jeunesses Musicales Percussion Group.

Special guests will appear on the festival stage: Krystyna Prońko, cellist Krzysztof Lenczowski and the French duo Fines Lames. The festival finale will feature violinist Maja Ludwika Tomaszewska-Klimek accompanied by the AM Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Humala.

Warsaw | Concert of Laureates of the 18th Kazimierz Serocki International Composition Competition 2023

On the 2nd of December, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Agnieszka Osiecka Music Studio of the Polish Radio (Myśliwiecka 3/5/7/) there will be Concert of Laureates of the 18th Kazimierz Serocki International Composition Competition 2023. Free admission!

The concert will begin with Kazimierz Serocki's ‘Suite of Preludes’ performed by pianist Krzysztof Kozłowski.

After the award ceremony, we will hear the winners' works performed by Hashtag Ensemble: The Flow by Uri Brener (Israel), Encendiendo by Luca Vago (Italy) and ─ ~ minus ~ VII < Picture Book of Mist > by Masato Kimura (Japan).

The awards were funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

The Polish Society of Contemporary Music invites children aged 3-8 with their parents to free improvisation workshops ‘Tell me a fairy tale’, which will take place on the 19th of November, 2023 at 11.00 at the ‘Pogodna’ Center for Creative Activities - a branch of the Wesoła Cultural Center (Jana Pawła II 25, Warsaw). The plan includes a lot of music, improvisation, playing instruments and having fun.

The workshops will be led by improvisers: Leszek Lorent (percussion instruments), Małgorzata Kołcz (double bass) and composer Jarosław Siwiński (synthesizer).

As last year, during the inauguration of the 5th International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe "Eufonie", one of the most famous orchestras in the world will perform: the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

On the 17th of November at 7:30 p.m. at the Warsaw Philharmonic, the ensemble conducted by Olari Elts will perform works by Edward Elgar, Karol Szymanowski, Jean Sibelius and Lotta Wennäkoski, who will be present in the audience that day.

Maestra Anu Tali is an artist who fits perfectly into the series of concerts of Sinfonietta Cracovia, which introduces the Cracow audience to the rising stars of the European classical music scene. The Estonian conductor brings something unique to this stage: a fresh perspective and intriguing repertoire choices. The first Cracow concert of this artist will take place on the 29th of November, 2023 at 7.30 p.m. at the Cracow Philharmonic.

This November marks the 90th anniversary of birth of Krzysztof Penderecki, mentor of Sinfonietta Cracovia musicians, with whom the orchestra had the opportunity to give concerts. The concert programme includes Sinfonietta No. 3, a piece that can easily be described as one of the "musical showcases" of the Cracow ensemble.

Zielona Góra | 'Weekend with the Independent' at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic

The programme of the 3rd edition of the "Weekend with the Independent" at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic on November 10-12, 2023 includes a recital by the Canadian pianist Carter Johnson - winner of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Polish Music Competition in Rzeszów, vocal and instrumental concert "Recovered Independent" and the final concert of "Concerto Festivo" with the participation of Łukasz Długosz. The soloists will be accompanied by the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rafał Kłoczko.

Carter Johnson's interpretation of the Sonatina by the patron of the Zielona Góra Philharmonic will be performed on the 10th of November, as well as works by Szymanowski, Chopin and Moniuszko's Three Waltzes.

During the concert on the 11th of November, on the 105th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, Joanna Zawartko (soprano), Adrian Domarecki (tenor) and Szymon Mechliński (baritone) will present fragments from forgotten and unknown operas, works that are just being recovered and brought back to life.

Wrocław | Concert on the National Independence Day: 20 choirs in NFM

As many as sixteen Lower Silesian children's and youth choirs participating in the "Singing Poland" educational program will take part in the in the Concert on the occasion of the National Independence Day on the 11th of November, 2023 at 5 p.m. These groups, together with four other choirs from Wrocław and an instrumental ensemble, will present works by great figures of Polish choral music - Juliusz Łuciuk, Józef Świder and Stanisław Moniuszko, and will premiere compositions by artists of young generation.

During the concert, four new works by Krzysztof Domański - a vocalist, composer and flutist associated with Wrocław, who set to music the wonderful texts of Aleksander Fredro, Stanisław Jachowicz and Maria Konopnicka, will be performed for the first time.

Wrocław | Jubilee of Krzysztof Meyer in NFM

Krzysztof Meyer, celebrating his eightieth birthday this year, is one of the most versatile and prolific contemporary Polish composers. The programme of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra's concert on the 12th of November at 6.00 p.m., in addition to Maestro's compositions, will also be composed of songs by Arvo Pärt, Fazil Say and Mieczysław Wajnberg.

Solo parts will be performed by flutist Jan Krzeszowiec and harpsichord player Gośka Isphording.The ensemble will be led by Christian Danowicz.

Katowice | 11th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days "Górecki 90." concert dedicated to the Philharmony patron

As part of the 11th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days "Górecki 90." on the 10th of November at 7 p.m., the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Radosław Droń, together with the recognized cellist Konrad Bargieł, will invite the audience to a unique concert dedicated to the memory of the Patron of the Silesian Philharmonic - Henryk Mikołaj Górecki - whose 13th death anniversary will be celebrated on the 12th of November, 2023.

The programme includes his Elegy and works by Samuel Barber, Niccolò Paganini, Giacomo Puccini and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Festival will last till the 9th of December.
