Next event of the "Super Sam + 1" cycle will be held on December 1, 2016 in Warsaw.
”Super Sam + 1" is a series of solo performances and duos, which are held btween September and the end of 2016. The project focuses mainly on music, however, it also includes other forms of artistic expression such as performance, multimedia or monodrama. Each event involves the participation of one Warsaw-based artist. All invited performers present their premiere works, as well as meet local artists and audience during the workshops.
Steve Buchanan, active since the 1970s, has become professionally successful in two fields - music and dance respectively. He has also been a performer of what is in current called „noise and improv music”. He plays alto sax and guitar and he invented the 2nd Line Tranz Danz Floor - a digital interface instrument on which he creates music by dancing, with which he has performed worldwide.
Qba Janicki graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow in the percussion class of Łukasz Żyta. As a stage musician he played hundreds of concerts and performed with artists such as: Jerzy Mazzoll, Sławek Janicki, Kris Wanders, Roscoe Mitchell, Steve Buchanan, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Bartłomiej Chmara, Risa Takita, Stefan Węgłowski, Tomasz Sroczyński and many symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles. At the moment, he is a member of Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, Mazzoll/Janicki/Janicki, Bambuko, Hania Piosik/Qba Janicki and Kondensator Przepływu. He is also a music producer, co-owner of Mózg club in Bydgoszcz and Warsaw and co-founder of Mózg Foundation.
