Open Call for Classical:NEXT 2017

iam Adam Mickiewicz Institute provides music managers, promoters, editors and artistic directors of Polish festivals with an opportunity to apply for financial support related to the participation in the Classical:NEXT 2017 fairs, which will be held on May 17-20, 2017 in Rotterdam.

Classical:NEXT was born out of the simple idea to bring the diverse scenes of classical music together and offer them a forum to exchange and develop new ways for classical and contemporary music. Since the first edition in 2012, about 3000 classical music professionals from more than 1000 companies and from over 45 countries have engaged with Classical:NEXT and made it into the world's most important classical music meeting.

Classical:NEXT 2016 in Rotterdam saw: 1200 Delegates representing 700 companies coming to Rotterdam from 46 countries, 4 days featuring 245 exhibiting companies and organizations at the expo, 155 artists performing live at the showcase concerts, 80 speakers leading panel discussions, network meetings, project pitches, "Lunch with the Residents" concerts, a Fellowship programme, a Classical Music Mini Rave and 1 Innovation Award with winners selected from among 21 pioneering projects by all members of C:N NET.

General Improvisation (4) - workshops by Marek Chołoniewski

c Composer and improviser Marek Chołoniewski will run workshops "General Improvisation (4)" on March 15-16, 2017 at the Mózg Club in Warsaw.

"General Improvisation" is a project initiated by the Mózg Foundation and Powszechny Theatre. The workshops include composing and live performance of music and audiovisual art, which make use of various methods of improvisation, interaction, biofeedback training and audiokinesis. Controlling sound structures by using brainwaves, forming one’s own electronic systems, scanning electromagnetic fields, kinetics of the sound objects and creating interactive scores - these are the elements which, through workshops, will lead to the final presentation, performed also by the participants.

March 15, 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm - 8.00 pm

March 16, 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm

March 16, 8.00 pm - final concert

Auditions for the Szczecin Philharmonic

Szczecin Philharmonic announces auditions for the II concertmaster (full-time contract). Audition will take place on February 25th, 2019 (Monday), at 2pm at the Szczecin Philharmonic chamber hall.

Audition repertoire: 1st round – behind the curtain, solo programme – performed from memory, 2nd round – open, orchestral excerpts tutti and solo, 3rd round – leading the orchestra as the concertmaster on the rehearsals and concert on March 1st, 2019. Szczecin Philharmonic will provide an accompanist for auditions.

Necessary requirements: Master Degree (Violin). Szczecin Philharmonic offers: opportunity to participate in innovative projects realized by the Szczecin Philharmonic, including the participation in music publishing activity of Szczecin Philharmonic; possibility of professional development through access to a modern and very well-equipped library; work in a professional team, in a friendly atmosphere; comfortable working conditions in a modern building of the Szczecin Philharmonic; a wide range of social benefits, including co-financing for cultural-educational and sportrecreational activities, repayable assistance for housing purposes, private medical care in Medicover Centers in Poland.

"Stage for Polish Music" (season 2019/2020) – call for applications

The Institute of Music and Dance, in cooperation with the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, announces the artistic programme "Stage for Polish Music".

"Stage for Polish Music" is a new programme of the Institute of Music and Dance directed to Polish performers, realized in cooperation with the National Philharmonic and artistic institutions in the country. The selected concert programmes composed of Polish works will be presented in the Chamber Hall of the National Philharmonic and repeated in other cities in Poland.

The programme aims to inspire musicians to include Polish music in concert repertoires, to promote performances of Polish music and to interest the public in Polish music, especially lesser known works. The expected result of the programme is the presentation and popularization of Polish compositional output, especially less frequently present in contemporary concert practice, the increase in the number of performances of Polish music and the promotion of Polish artists. As part of the programme, artists – soloists and chamber ensembles – can apply for co-financing in the amount of up to PLN 30,000. The budget of the programme is 240,000 PLN.

The deadline for submissions is 30th April 2019.

Recruitment for the MyOrchestra project

MyOrchestra

The MyWay Foundation and the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music invite students and graduates of Polish music academies to the new prestigious MyOrchestra project.

Musicians aged 18 to 28 who play the violin, viola, cello, double bass, bassoon / contrabassoon, French horn, trombone / bass trombone, tuba, percussion instruments and piano can apply to participate in the project.

The selected group of musicians will be invited to prepare the premiere material of "Radzimir Dębski Hommage Krzysztof Penderecki". The project will include residency and workshops at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, as well as a series of concerts in Poland in January 2021 under the baton of Maestro Maciej Tworek and composer Radzimir Dębski: in Lusławice, Wrocław, Kraków, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Szczecin.

Dates of the concerts are subject to change due to the dynamic situation associated with the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

To participate in the recruitment process, one should send a completed application form and recordings by 6 April 2020, as well as accept the project regulations and give consent to the processing of personal data and use of image for purposes related to the recruitment and the project.
