The Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra will perform together with Szymon Klima under the baton of Yannis Pouspourikas on 6 March 2020 at 7.00 p.n. at the Silesian Philharmonic. The programme will include works by Sergei Prokofiev, Gerald Finzi and great Polish artists associated with Silesia.

A few years ago, clarinetist Szymon Klima became famous for an extraordinary project to “expand” the 10-minute cycle of appealing Dance Preludes (1954) by Witold Lutosławski, an improvisation inspired by this piece which resulted in concerts as well as the album Lutosławski Retuned (performed by a trio also featuring Adam Kowalewski and Piotr Wyleżoł). The March concert will feature these preludes in their original form and the artist will also perform the spectacularly expressive Clarinet Concerto (1949), the best-known work today by the somewhat forgotten, yet prolific British composer Gerald Finzi. The dance, quasi-folk idiom of Lutosławski’s Preludes will be completed by the lively third of the Dances op. 34, which Henryk Mikołaj Górecki composed in 1998 for the Rybnik Philharmonic.

Sergei Prokofiev, one of the pioneers of ambitious film music from the USSR, composed appealing music for the film Lieutenant Kijé, whose fame (in the form of a concert suite op. 60) considerably outlived the film itself. This colourful and attractive programme will be led by Yannis Pouspourikas – born in Marseilles, the conductor studied in Geneva and made his debut at the Opernhaus in Zurich; he has collaborated with, among others, the Glyndebourne festival, the Opéra National de Paris and many of the most important theatrical stages of France and Switzerland, as well as other countries. Particularly valued as an opera conductor, he has also appeared in many countries with great success in presenting symphonic repertoire.

The Stanisław Moniuszko Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Art Centre in Bialystok invites you on 6 March 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to the concert entitled "God's Voice", featuring works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Paweł Mykietyn.

“The Year 1812” Overture Tchaikovsky composed to be performed in the open air. To a big ensemble of brass, woodwinds and percussion, he added orchestra, toll of the bells, and sounds of the cannons – all to celebrate Russia’s great victory over Napoleon’s army in 1812. But there’s an American side to the work as well – the premiere directed by composer himself in 1891 took place at an opening concert of the Carnegie Hall in New York, and now it’s often performed for the Independence Day. Rachmaninov's Symphony No. 2 both in structure and character resembles Tchaikovsky’s last symphonies, especially the Fifth, with whom it shares the E minor key. The Second brought Rachmaninov success and opened a new better chapter of life.

These two Russian works will be split by Mykietyn’s Double Concerto for two flutes and orchestra. This mellow, but at the same time very dramatic work is composed of three parts played attacca, the first and the last of them based on the composer’s own technique of continuous accelerando and ritardando. The well-known flute duo – Łukasz Długosz and Agata Kielar-Długosz will perform as soloists.

The concert is held under the patronage of the PWM Edition as part of the TUTTI.PL project promoting the performance of Polish music. The event is co-organized and co-financed under the "Conductor-in-Residence" programme of the Institute of Music and Dance.

The Cello Students' Scientific Circle of the Academy of Music in Kraków invites you to the 7th Kraków Cello Spring, which will take place on 5-8 March  2020. The aim of this scientific and artistic event is to promote young talents and development of cello music.

The festival programme includes lectures, courses and concerts conducted by cellists from Poland and the world. The internaitonal character of the event is aimed at expanding knowledge about Polish and foreign works, as well as learning the latest trends in composing and performance. The project's programme is structured to show the cello as a versatile instrument and to interest a wide audience.The concerts of the invited cellists will contribute to the integration and development of the cello community in Poland.

The 7th Krakow Cello Spring will open with the "Cello in three scenes" concert , featuring Recitativa and the ariosa "Lerchenmusik" for clarinet, cello and piano by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. On 6 March, there will be a concert entirely dedicated to one of the greatest composers – Ludwig van Beethoven on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth. The concert on 7 March will present music of South America – works by Piazzolla, Medina and Villa-Lobos will be performed by teachers and students of the Academy under Prof. Lars Hoefs. For the first time in Europe, the Krakow audience will hear the original, recently found version of Bachianas Brasilieras No. 5 and the world premiere of two miniatures by José Medina. Elegy for cello and string quintet by Mikołaj Górecki will be performed during the final concert.

The session of the Jury of the Competition, composed of: Marcel Chyrzyński (chairman), Zbigniew Bargielski, Ivan Buffa (Slovakia), Iwona Glinka (Poland / Greece) and Wojciech Widłak, was held in Krakow. The Secretary of the Competition was Aleksandra Patalas.

Nineteen scores from countries such as Austria, Armenia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, France, South Korea, Poland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, USA were sent to the competition, one of which was rejected due to non-compliance with the regulations.

The Jury, after familiarizing themselves with 18 scores, decided to award the Main Prize of USD 1,000 (gross) to the work streams ... contacts (emblem: 1221). In addition, the Jury decided to award three honorary distinctions for the works Dialoge (emblem: BOBBA1), Éclat dans le brouillard (emblem: FONT) and Metanoia (emblem: PHOENIX).

After opening the envelopes, it turned out that the winner of the Main Award is Otto Wanke from Austria. Among the other awarded composers are Orhan Veli Özbayrak from Turkey (emblem: BOBBA1), Tetsuya Yamamoto representing Japan and France (emblem: FONT) and Wojciech Chałupka from Poland (emblem: PHOENIX).

The official reading of the minutes and the first performance of the Grand Prize winner's composition will take place on 22 April 2020 during the 32nd International Festival of Kraków Composers.

1. Niezbędne wymagania:

1) wykształcenie wyższe magisterskie – w dziedzinie sztuki, nauk humanistycznych lub społecznych,

2) minimum 5-letni staż pracy zawodowej,

3) minimum 3-letni staż pracy na stanowisku kierowniczym w instytucjach kultury związanych z działalnością muzyczną,

4) brak skazania wyrokiem sądu za umyślne przestępstwo ścigane z oskarżenia publicznego lub umyślne przestępstwo skarbowe,

5) korzystanie z pełni praw publicznych,

6) posiadanie pełnej zdolności do czynności prawnych,

7) brak zakazu pełnienia funkcji związanych z dysponowaniem środkami publicznymi, o którym mowa w art. 31 ust. 1 pkt 4 ustawy z dnia 17 grudnia 2004 r. o odpowiedzialności za naruszenie dyscypliny finansów publicznych (t.j. Dz. U. z 2019 r., poz. 1440 z późn. zm.),

8) brak przeciwwskazań zdrowotnych do zajmowania stanowisk kierowniczych,

9) przedstawienie programu realizacji zadań w zakresie bieżącego funkcjonowania i rozwoju Filharmonii Częstochowskiej im. Bronisława Hubermana.
