"Tromboholism – Poznań Trombone Music Festival" – a unique event on the map of Poznań, which brings together trombone players from all over Poland and Europe – will be held on 9-10 November 2019.

The project is organized by the Sepia Ensemble Association, and co-organized by the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań. The festival will feature concerts, lectures and master classes led by famous trombone players from around the world. This year's guests will be: Thomas Leyendecker (Berliner Philharmoniker, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig), György Gyivicsan (F. Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest), Tomasz Hajda (NOSPR in Katowice, K. Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław), Grzegorz Nagorski (Academy of Music in Kraków) and Maciej Łakomy (I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań).

The third edition of the Festival we feature a concert of the combined trombone classes of the music academies in Leipzig, Budapest, Wrocław, Szczecin and Poznań, a jazz concert of the Nagorski / Banyś ensemble and a concert of this year's lecturers. The programme will include works for trombone by composers from around the world, including Polish ones: Sonata by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, For Joseph and My Master by Piotr Banyś. The inauguration concert will premiere Sol - solo Dio! by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Assistant Professor at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.

On 8 November 2019 at 7 p.m. the Tadeusz Baird Zielona Góra Philharmonic will host a concert of Polish music on the occasion of the National Independence Day. The works of Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Witold Lutosławski and Krzesimir Dębski will be performed by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and pianist Piotr Banasik under the baton of Maestro Czesław Grabowski.

On the occasion of the National Independence Day, the musicians will perform a programme composed entirely of Polish works: a romantic overture to the opera Paria by Stanisław Moniuszko, a virtuoso-national Fantasy on Polish themes in A major by Fryderyk Chopin, a spectacular paraphrase of the world famous Capriccio in A minor by Niccolò Paganini in Witold Lutosławski's transcription as well as his Variations on a Theme by Paganini, and the In Desert and Wilderness film music suite by Krzesimir Dębski, composed of music written for the adaptation of one of the most popular children's novels by Henryk Sienkiewicz.

The world premiere of the Piano Concerto 'Stained Glass of Time' ('Witraż czasu') by Prof. Janusz Stalmierski, Rector of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music, will take place on 8 November 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Hall of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The solo part in the piece composed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Poznań Music Academy will be performed by Prof. Joanna Marcinkowska.

Just as the sun coming through the stained glass window makes the dark interior full of colors, so the personalities of outstanding graduates and teachers give the character and splendor to  their Alma Mater. For its hundredth birthday, the Igancy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music will receive a unique concert gift from the Poznań Philharmonic and artists associated with the Academy.

The musicians of the Poznań Philharmonic under the baton of Jakub Chrenowicz will premiere Prof. Janusz Stalmierski's Piano Concerto 'Stained Glass of Time', composed especially for this occasion. The programme will also include compositions by Franz Xaver Scharwenka – Overture to the Mataswinth opera, Roman Palester – Wedding Dances from the ballet The Song of the Earth, and Alexander Tansman – Symphony No. 3 for the violin, viola, cello, piano and orchestra.

The list of performers includes: Joanna Marcinkowska – piano, Marcin Suszycki – violin, Dominik Dębski – viola, Józef Czarnecki – cello, Michał Francuz – piano, Jakub Chrenowicz – conductor, Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, Mikołaj Rykowski – host of the evening.

The concert is held under the patronage of the PWM Edition as part of the TUTTI.pl project promoting the performances of Polish music.

The fifth edition of the Kwadrofonik Festival will take place on 7-21 November 2019 in Warsaw.

Light and sound – these are two forces of nature affecting our senses. In a capacious and tolerant art universe, light and sound have the right to meet. Looking, seeing, perceiving, shading, interpreting the light, its meaning and colors – both by directors, composers and invited musicians – will be the theme of this year's edition of the Kwadrofonik Festival. Black and white Buster Keaton's silent film with unusual sounds of percussion instruments in the score performed by the Pękala / Kordylasińska / Pękala duo, two black pianos from which pianists of the Lutosławski Piano Duo will bring out all shades of French Impressionist masterpieces – from white to black, or the songs of the blind singer Moondog in the intimate interpretation by Natalia Przybysz, Raphael Roginski and Širom – these are the proposals of the upcoming edition of the Festival.

Th Warsaw premiere of Urlicht for keyboard instruments and percussion written by the Kwadrofonik members will take place on 21 November at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. This new project is a musical interpretation of the phenomenon of light: not only as a physical force, but also as pure energy that has existed since the very beginning of the universe. In the Urlicht project Kwadrofonik creates a form of variations based on the chorale and its counterpoint, which resound separately or enter into dialogue with each other.

The next edition of the "Silesian Composers' Tribune" festival will take place in Katowice on 4-15 November 2019.

The "Silesian Composers' Tribune" is a Katowice festival with a long, over 40-year tradition and great importance for the Silesian music culture. It aims to present the significant achievements of Silesian musicians and to familiarize the audience with the work of outstanding 20th- and 21st-century music composers. This year's edition includes diverse events taking place at the Katowice Academy of Music, the M. Karłowicz State Music School and the Academy of Fine Arts.

The inauguration concert will premiere Wojciech Stępień's chamber opera The Black Mirrow – a mystery in 12 scenes with a prologue and epilogue, which was written as part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage "Composing Commissions" programme, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance. On 12 November we will listen to another work created within the programme – Przemysław Szczotka's Dissociatio performed by Piotr and Agnieszka Kopińscy. The festival will also feature world premieres of works by Sonia Brauhoff, Przemysław Scheller, Piotr Ceglarek and Tomasz Bauc as well as meetings with composers and a lecture by PhD Przemysław Scheller Xenharmonia – irregular temperaments on systems that go beyond the commonly used twelve-tone equal temperament.
