Musica Electronica Nova 20167th Musica Electronica Nova will be held in Wrocław in May 19-22, 2016. The ticket sale started on February 12, 2016.

Musica Electronica Nova (MEN) in an unusual edition entitled Growing inscribes itself into the motto of Wrocław European Capital of Culture 2016 – Spaces for Beauty. For the first time, the MEN festival will be held in the new halls of the National Forum of Music.

The programme is themed around the idea of breeding and coming into existence, so unequivocally communicated in the installation of Jean-Luc Hervé, changing a part of the concrete square in front of the NFM into verdure growing with music. The installation is related to a concert by the most famous ensemble specialising in contemporary music, Ensemble Intercontemporain, founded in 1972 in Paris by Pierre Boulez. The artists, on their only second visit to Poland, will perform the world premiere of Agata Zubel’s work commissioned by them. On Friday, May 20, the audience will listen to the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic under Michał Klauza in a repertoire combining electronics with the sound of big symphony orchestra. MEN 2016 will also offer a series of events of Sound Cinema, the project accompanying the festival for several editions now. As part of ECC Wrocław 2016, composers from many parts of Europe have been invited to create city soundscapes.
