Poznań | Poznań Music Academy Summer Stage

P

As in previous years, the  Academy of Music Foundation in cooperation with the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music and the City of Poznań has prepared an attractive concert offer for all those who plan to spend the summer in Poznań – a series of concerts "Summer Stage at the Academy of Music" between June 30 and September 1, 2018.

The tradition of musical meetings in the summer has more than twenty years. Until 2012, the place of concerts was the Town Hall of Poznan (the cycle was called "Summer Town Hall Concerts"), and since 2013 it is the Aula of the Music Academy (the name was changed to "Summer Stage at the Academy of Music"). The decision to change the location of concerts was influenced by, among others, the logistic factor – the Stefan Stuligrosz Hall can accommodate nearly three times as many listeners as the Town Hall.

The Academy of Music invites you for a series of holiday meetings with music on Wednesdays in July and August (4, 11, 18, 25 July and 1, 8, 22, 29 August) and on Thursday, 16 August. The concerts will also take place in the Courtyard of the Poznań City Hall on June 30 and September 1. The programme of the concerts includes works by Polish composers of the XX-XXI century: Grażyna Bacewicz, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Stefan Kisielewski, Witold Lutosławski, Franciszek Maklakiewicz, Feliks Nowowiejski, Ludomir Różycki, Władysław Żeleński, and the premiere of Three Songs to the words of Sergio Boscardina for soprano, clarinet, piano and electronics by Piotr Pawlik. Attractive, varied repertoire and high level of performance will make this year's music presentations an important highlight of the city's cultural summer offer.

Admission to all concerts is free!
