Reiner Trio was founded in 1995. It consists of eminent Cracovian musicians, graduates and now stuff members of the Academy of Music in Cracow. The Trio gives many concerts at home and abroad (Belgium,Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic). It took part in numerous festivals, among them 14th All-Poland Talents’ Week in Tarnów (1996), Silesian Johannes Brahms’ Music Festival (1997), Festival VanVlaanderen in Belgium (1999), XXIV International Festival "Music in Old Cracow" (1999), Festival Schalom in Leipzig (Germany, 1999, 2001,2003), concerts within Festival “Cracow 2000”. In the artistic season 1996/97 the Cracow Philharmonic included the Trio’s concert in a chamber music series called “Evenings in Florianka” and in season 1999/2000 Trio have been playing at the Cracow Philharmonic Main Hall again. In 2002 Trio was invited to play at 75. concert in Jagiellonian University organized by Cracow Philharmonic, too.
The musicians of Reiner Trio are specially interested in Jewish music, hence their frequent participation in such festivals as 5th, 7th, 12th and 13th Festival of Jewish Culture (Cracow 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2003) and Bajit Chadasz Festival (Cracow 1996, 2000, 2002). The Reiner Trio has made unique arrangements of some traditional folk Jewish tunes. The unique character of the arrangements allows them to be presented and combined with the classical chamber music repertoire during the concerts. The Trio has made many recordings including those for Polish Radio and the 2nd Channel of German TV (ZDF). In 1996 the Judaica Foundation and the Centre of Jewish Culture in Cracow released a CD record entitled “Memories of Cracow’s Kazimierz” with the music arranged and played by the Reiner Trio.
The repertoire of the Trio ranges from classical pieces (by J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven) through romantic music (by F. Schubert, F. Mendelssohn, J. Brahms, M. Bruch, P. Czajkowski) to 20th century composers (S. Rachmaninov, D. Shostakovich and others). Polish music occupies a special place in the Trio repertoire; their favourite Polish composers are F. Chopin, A. Malawski, A. Panufnik.
