Dominika Jurczuk-Gondek,

violinist, conductor, and educator. Born in Bielsko-Biała she first attended the city's school of music, studying the violin under Andrzej Laburda. She then graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice, having studied composition under Professor Czesław Freund.

Since 2001 she has been a violinist of Grupa Furmana, a popular music band. She also sings and plays in Gotress, a group she set up, and she conducts the chamber choir Brevis, which participates each year in a range of international choral competitions, often winning prizes and distinctions.

She may also boast a number of individual awards: in 2005 she was nominated for an Icarus (Ikar), Mayor of Bielko-Biała's Award for cultural and artistic achievements.

She works at the Kamienica Municipal Culture Centre in Bielsko-Biała, teaching the violin, piano singing, and leading a string quartet and a choir.

She is a member of the board of the Society of the Friends of Bielsko-Biała and Podbeskidzie.

She has written numerous songs as well as pieces for a bigger line-up, including Oratorium Naszego Pokolenia „Wciąż Szukam” (Oratorio of Our Generation "I'm Still Looking For") for percussion, marimba, double bass, acoustic guitar, dobro, banjo, accordion, violin, solo voices and chamber choir or a musical for children titled Wielki mały rejs (A Small Big Cruise) (2008), which won the first prize in the dance production category at the 5th International Autumn Artistic Encounters „Talizman Sukcesu" (Talisman of Success) in Bielsko-Biała.
