conductor, composer, instrumentalist and lecturer; b. 27 February 1989, Warsaw. He graduated from the Department of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music (Major: Symphonic and operatic conducting) at The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. First, he defended his bachelor’s thesis supervised by Prof. Marek Pijarowski. Then, he earned his master’s degree with distinction under supervision of Prof. Szymon Kawalla. Currently, he is a PhD student at his home university.

He has been improving his skills on international conducting courses led by the following masters of baton: maestro Colin Metters, Frank Cramer, Łukasz Borowicz and Paweł Kotla. In 2007 Jarosław received the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

He is a prize winner of numerous music, composition and improvisation competitions. Some of his achievements are: an honorable mention in the international piano improvisation contest Transatlantyk Instant Composition Contest (2012), a 4th place winner in Olimpiada Artystyczna (2008), a distinction in I Ogólnopolski Konkurs z Literatury Muzycznej in Cracow (2007), a 1st place winner at the European Music Integration in Żyrardów (2007), a distinction and a special jury award in I Makroregionalny Konkurs Harmoniczny in Łódź (2006), a 1st place winner in a composition contest Włochowska Szuflada (2005). He was participant of Felix Mendelssohn Conducting Competition in Thessaloniki (2016).

He performs as a pianist – improviser. He had a chance to perfect his skills in this area at the International Jazz Workshop in Puławy where he was training under the guidance of Wojciech Niedziela, Artur Dutkiewicz and Adrean Farrugia and also at his home university under Prof. Szabolcs Esztényi.

Since 2011, he has been cooperating with the Warsaw Mime Center at the Na Woli Theatre as a composer of theater music (performances such as “Przedwczorajsze historie”, “Pierrotów Dwóch” and several etudes). Since 2011, he has also been working as the master of ceremony at educational concerts organized by the Warsaw Philharmonic. More than one thousand popularizing concerts in cultural centers, schools and kindergartens throughout Poland were hosted by Jarosław. In December 2012, he started to conduct the Tarczyn City Choir. He cooperates also as a guest conductor with Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, Rybnik Philharmonic Orchestra, Vocal and Acting Department of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (“Suor Angelica” opera by G. Puccini), Variete Theatre in Warsaw (performance “Nietoperz”) and with the drum band “Żyrardowskie Uderzenie” (the only percussion ensemble in Poland). He was an assistant of maestro Jacek Rogala at the Concert of Graduates from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Warsaw (March 2013) and of maestro Piotr Staniszewski while realizing a project of the Warsaw Philharmonic “Nowe obrazki z wystawy”. Since September 2014 he has been working as a conductor of the Joseph Elsner Music School’s Wind Ensemble in Warsaw. In 2014 and 2015 he was a finalist of the Second and Third Edition of the Youth Stage of Warsaw Chamber Opera where he conducted premieres of the following operas of contemporary composers: “Wasserstimmen” by Dariusz Przybylski, “Orphee’s Labirynt” by Nikolet Burzyńska, “Three Tall Tales of Doctor Monsiuer Façade” by Ryan Latimer and “Sacred Emily” by EunHo Chang. Since October 2015, he has worked as a conductor of the Grójec City Choir. In 2016, the album “Real Life Song” by Joanna Freszel, featuring Jarosław, received the Fryderyk Award Nomination in two categories: “Best Contemporary Music Album” and “Most Outstanding Polish Music Recording”. In May 2016, he co-organized Ogólnopolska Konferencja Naukowa “Greatest Polish Conductors – Stanisław Wisłocki”.
