| The "Musica Sacra" Competition for Young Composers has been organised since 1995 by the Academy of Catholic Theology Choir (now renamed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University Choir), by the Musica Sacra Society and the "Gaude Mater" Centre for the Promotion of Culture in Częstochowa. The subject of this competition, addressed to Polish composers under 35 years of age, is a sacred composition for mixed a cappella choir. The CD presents works which received prizes in 1995-1999, during the first four competitions. The recordings are those of first performances, which were given at the “Gaude Mater” International Festival of Sacred Music in Częstochowa. |
