The Polish Radio has released another album in the “Polish Conductors” series, dedicated this time to Bogusław Madey, appearing here in a multitude of roles - as a conductor, composer, painter, but also... husband and father, who wishes to present the musical achievements of his wife, the singer Anna Malewicz-Madey, and his son Emilian, a pianist. Madey the painter is represented by the self-portrait of 1958 reproduced in the booklet. The interesting selection of recordings from various periods of Bogusław Madey’s conducting activity comprises both Polish and foreign repertoire. Of particular interest is the poem Stanisław and Anna Oświecim, Madey’s favourite, as he admits in the booklet interview. |
