Christmas mean carols! It's hard to imagine this festive time without them. When they resound in a beautiful space, they gain their full expression. This will be the case on Boxing Day, the 26^th of December, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jesuit Basilica in Cracow, in Kopernika 26 street. Admission to the concert is free!

Polish and not only Christmas carols arranged by Nowowiejski and Skoczylas, as well as organ music for Christmas performed by artists: soprano Wiktoria Bisztyga and tenor Rafał Kobyliński SJ, with the participation of organ virtuoso Marek Stefański, will warm the hearts of all those who want to spend the Christmas evening with this music unique in its expression and magical atmosphere.

Jarosław Naliwajko SJ prefect of the Basilica will be the event's host.

Patronat medialny nad wydarzeniem objęło Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.

Debiutancka płyta „Tansman Trio plays Tansman" od 18 grudnia 2023 roku dostępna będzie w salonach Empik, sklepach muzycznych i na stronie wydawcy - www.dux.pl. Niebawem najnowszy album monograficzny zespołu, poświęcony twórczości światowej sławy polskiego kompozytora Aleksandra Tansmana, pojawi się również na wszystkich platformach streamingowych.

Ten zespół powstał dzięki odkryciu nieznanych dzieł Aleksandra Tansmana na trio smyczkowe. Jego twórczość stała się dla skrzypaczki Roksany Kwaśnikowskiej, altowiolistki Agnieszki Podłuckiej i wiolonczelistki Zuzanny Sosnowskiej impulsem, by propagować ją szerzej, a także uczynić z kompozytora-emigranta swego patrona.

Udział w nagraniu debiutanckiej płyty tria wziął jeden z czołowych pianistów młodego pokolenia, Tomasz Ritter.

Just before Christmas, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maciej Tomasiewicz will invite music lovers to an evening of music by Wojciech Kilar as part of the "PGE - HoloGrams" series. This will happen not coincidentally on the 22^nd of December, 2023 at 7 p.m., as it is at the end of the month that we will celebrate the 10^th anniversary of death of this remarkable composer.

The concert will be an opportunity to experience the many facets of Wojciech Kilar's work. We will hear his famous Orava, Chorale Prelude, during which we will remain in the circle of highland inspirations, Ricordanza with a strong overtone, as well as examples of a genre without which the figure of Wojciech Kilar could not be fully reflected, namely film music. We will hear themes from Pan Tadeusz, Promised Land, The Pianist, The Shadow Streak, and Salt of the Black Earth.

Great music and tributes to the world-famous composer, who is strongly associated with Silesia and Katowice, will be combined with specially designed holograms.

On the 18^th of December, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Crown Tribunal in Lublin there will be a meeting with Dr. Maria Ziarkowska - author of the book entitled “Andrzej Cwojdziński. Man and Work.”

The book was published by Witold Lutosławski Primary and Secondary Music School in Lublin thanks to funding by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund as part of the "Musical Trace" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

Twenty-year-old violinist Wojciech Niedziółka, still a student at the Academy of Music in Łódź, was last year the only Pole who qualified for the second stage of the International Henryk WIeniawski Violin Competition. During his recital at the National Forum of Music on the 17^th of December, 2023 at 12.30 he will combine traditional 19th-century virtuoso repertoire with an impressionistic piece by Krzysztof Penderecki, which is about a hundred years younger than the other works. He will be accompanied at the piano by Michał Franc, well-known to the NFM audience, who also accompanied the young musician during the Poznań competition.

Niedziółka will have many opportunities to show his skills during the performance of Krzysztof Penderecki's Cadenza. The programme of the performance includes Variations Op. 15 by Wieniawski a work writtenby him when he was only nineteen.

We will also hear compositions by Ernest Chausson, Johannes Brahms and Pablo Sarasate.
