Tansman Aleksander - Douze pieces faciles pour guitare... (AP 0065)
It is little known that the eminent Polish composer and pianist Aleksander Tansman also wrote excellent pieces for the guitar, which attracted his interest owing to a friendship with one of the 20th-century’s most outstanding guitarists - Andrés Segovia. Tansman wrote more than a dozen solo and orchestral works for Segovia, incl. a Concertino for guitar and orchestra. Forty-eight guitar miniatures for children, collected in four books, were written in the 1970s, when Tansman had already made a name for himself as a distinguished composer, also of music for the guitar. Those miniature studies for learners have become genuine treasures of contemporary guitar writing. They are characterised by beautiful melodic content, engaging harmony and powerful expression. Nieborak’s interpretations have a delicate, captivating sound and reveal a deep understanding of the form. The recording is a world premiere - Pièces faciles had never before appeared on records.
