This extraordinary CD is addressed primarily to clarinetists, connoisseurs of clarinet music, as well as lovers of Lutosławski i Penderecki’s art, of Sharon Kam’s artistic mastery, and to people interested in contemporary (Polish) music in general. The considerable artistic merit of this recording is coupled by its historic significance as the world premiere of Penderecki’s Clarinet Concerto. The clarinet version of this Concerto, originally composed for flute, was specially commissioned by the Czech Philharmonic, and the recording is that of the first performance of the piece - on 7th March 1996 in Prague.
