Katowice | "Silesian Quartet. Masterpieces with Polish counterpoint": Andrzej Panufnik

Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

Concert at NOSPR on the 8th of June  at 6.00 p.m. as part of the series "Silesian Quartet. Masterpieces with Polish counterpoint" will be dedicated to Andrzej Panufnik, whose 110th birthday anniversary is celebrated in 2024. The 8th of June, 2024 is also the birthday of other concert heroes.

On this day, Arkadiusz Kubica, co-founder of the Silesian Quartet, and Robert Schumann, author of the Quartet in A major, Op. 41, which will be played at the beginning of the concert were also born.

The Polish counterpoint will be the Second String Quartet "Messages" by Andrzej Panufnik, whose music is called more intellectual than emotional: more attention to form and conceptuality than Slavic melodiousness
