The 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments, organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, will be held on September 2-14, 208. We invite you to follow the Competition event broadcasts.
One of the Competition’s most important programming premises is to popularize period instrument performance. Thus, it will be particularly essential to provide high quality communication from the Competition in the public media. All competition auditions will be available on Channel 2 of Polish Radio. Polish Television’s TVP Kultura channel will offer live broadcasts of the second inaugural concert on 3 September at 7:00 PM, the final audition round on 12 and 13 September at 6:00 PM, and the prizewinners’ concert, which will take place on 14 September at 7:00 PM. On Polish Television’s TVP 1 channel, on the other hand, it will be possible to view re-broadcasts of the inaugural concert and the prizewinners’ concert.
During the inaugural concerts, the Orchestra of the XVIII Century conducted by Grzegorz Nowak will perform À la recherche de la symphonie perdue by Paweł Szymański, a work commissioned by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. Frederic Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor Op. 21 and Piano concerto in E minor Op. 11 will be played Janusz Olejniczak and Nikolai Demidenko.
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute will make broadcasts of the entire Competition available on its YouTube channel and Facebook page.
