20. International Music Festival "Chopin and his Europe"

The program of the 20th anniversary International Music Festival "Chopin and his Europe" consists of over 40 concerts at the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Grand Theater - National Opera, and the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio, Basilica of St. Cross and the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The festival will take place from August 17 to September 8, 2024 and is titled "Chopin and the rest of the world".

Artists from all over the world such Garrick Ohlsson, Dang Thai Son, Piotr Paleczny, Hélène Grimaud, Marc-André Hamelin, Nelson Goerner, Ewa Pobłocka, Kevin Kenner, Bruce Liu, Makoto Ozone, Vilde Frang, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Bomsori, Antonio Pappano, Jacek Kaspszyk, and, among others, London Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Kammerorchester Basel, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia will perform at the Festival.

An important part of the festival program will be performances by masters of historical performance, who will present, among others: The Haunted Manor by Stanisław Moniuszko in its original version.

In accordance with the subtitle of the festival, well-known and popular works by Chopin will be performed, as well as rediscovered works absent from contemporary musical life. Sinfonia Varsovia, conducted by Jacek Kaspszyk, will premiere the orchestral version of Paweł Szymański's Four Hevelian Dances on August 21. On September 1, Sinfonia Varsovia and Janusz Olejniczak will premiere Jerzy Maksymiuk's Piano Concerto under the author's own direction.
