25th Concert in the Courtyard as part of the "Sine scientia ars nihil est" Academic Festival
The Computer Composition Studio of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław invites you on 20 June 2020 at 8.00 p.m. to the 25th edition of the Concert in the Courtyard as part of the "Sine scientia ars nihil est" Academic Festival.
"Sine scientia ars nihil est" – this thought attributed to Jean Mignot, a 14th-century French architect, perfectly illustrates the kind of music that is presented at this mini festival. The festival is dedicated to computer and electroacoustic music. The originators of the undertaking are the Avant-Garde Orchestra of the Music Academy in Wrocław, Sound Factory Orchestra and Computer Composition Studio. Due to the CoVid-19 pandemic, this year's edition could not take place in the Academy building. However, according to the words of Gustav Mahler: "Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." The concert will be held online and streamed live on YouTube.
The programme includes widely understood electronic music written by students of the Academy of Music accompanied by visualizations created by students of the Academy of Fine Arts – works by Berenika Wojnar, Paulina Zujewska, Agata Zemla, Rafał Fundowicz, Krzysztof Rau, Olgierd Żemojtel and Adam Skórzewski, Magdalena Gorwa and Oliwia Drozdowicz.
