The Prize Winners' Concert of the 2nd International Competition of Polish Music, organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance, will premiere on TVP Kultura on 19 December 2021 at 3.50 p.m.
Masterpieces of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Grażyna Bacewicz, Ludomir Różycki, Wojciech Kilar, Witold Lutosławski, Roman Maciejewski and Miłosz Magin will be performed by excellent pianists and chamber ensembles: Carter Johnson, Ivan Shemchuk, Michał Szymanowski, Książek Piano Duo (Agnieszka Zahaczewska-Książek and Krzysztof Książek), Kwintofonia and Aleksandra Kuls and Marcin Koziak duo.
This year's edition of the Competition was attended by 86 musicians from three continents who competed for a total prize pool of 80,000 EUR in two categories: pianists and chamber ensembles. The participants competed in September on the stage of the Artur Malawski Subcarphatian Philharmonic in Rzeszów.
The competition is organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance in cooperation with the Artur Malawski Subcarphatian Philharmonic in Rzeszów and is funded by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The event's partner is the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The competition is held under the National Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. The Competition is a member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation’s piano competitions network.
