3rd International Conference "Interpretations of Musical Works. Towards Semiotics"

k3nd International Conference "Interpretations of Musical Works. Towards Semiotics" will take place on November 21-22, 2017 at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (7 Słowacki Street).

The event is organised by the Faculty of Composition, Theory of Music and Sound Engineering as a part of the conference series „Interpretation Artis Musicae”. Among the participants there are music theorist and musicologists from different European academic centers: Paris, Leipzig, Graz, Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Bydgoszcz, who will present papers devoted to works of such Polish composers as Hanna Kulenty, Michał Kondracki, Henryk Czyż, Anna Małek, Andrzej Panufnik, Paweł Szymański, Zbigniew Bargielski, Zygmunt Mycielski, Feliks Nowowiejski and Karol Szymanowski. The inaugural talk on sign theory and narrative strategies will be given by Márta Grabócz.

An accompanying concert will be held on November 21 at 7 p.m. at the Concert Hall of the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music, with works written by composers associated with the Academy: Zbigniew BargielskiHanna Kulentyand Bettina Skrzypczak. Admission free.
