The event is organised by the Faculty of Composition, Theory of Music and Sound Engineering as a part of the conference series „Interpretation Artis Musicae”. Among the participants there are music theorist and musicologists from different European academic centers: Paris, Leipzig, Graz, Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Bydgoszcz, who will present papers devoted to works of such Polish composers as Hanna Kulenty, Michał Kondracki, Henryk Czyż, Anna Małek, Andrzej Panufnik, Paweł Szymański, Zbigniew Bargielski, Zygmunt Mycielski, Feliks Nowowiejski and Karol Szymanowski. The inaugural talk on sign theory and narrative strategies will be given by Márta Grabócz.
An accompanying concert will be held on November 21 at 7 p.m. at the Concert Hall of the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music, with works written by composers associated with the Academy: Zbigniew Bargielski, Hanna Kulentyand Bettina Skrzypczak. Admission free.
