52. International Organ Festival in Koszalin and Region

FK

The 52nd International Organ Festival in Koszalin and seven towns of Central Pomerania, one of the oldest music events in Poland, will last until 31st August 2018.

The festival will include 30 organ, chamber, choral, and oratory concerts in eight different venues in Central Pomerania. The  international character of the event is ensured by the participation of artists from all over Europe. The festival is an important complement to the region's summer cultural offer.

The concerts will take place every Friday at 7.15 p.m., nine of them in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Koszalin. They will feature Polish organists, such as Roman Perucki and Marek Toporowski, as well as guests from Russia: Daniel Zaretsky and Taras Baginets. We will hear compositions by Grażyna Bacewicz, Wojciech Kilar, Juliusz Łucciuka, Feliks Nowowiejski, Marek Raczyński, Marian Sawa and Józef Świder.

The first part of the concerts will be filled with organ music, while in the second part we will hear works from diverse genres. Krakowskie Trio Stroikowe, "Canzona" female choir ensemble of the Koszalin University of Technology, "Pomerania Cantat" Choir of the Children's Choir Academy in Koszalin and Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra will take part in the final concert. The programme will include compositions by Krzesimir Dębski, who will perform as a conductor and violinist.
