On 1st July 2018, the 6th edition of the Lower Silesian Music Festival began, with the leitmotif of Polish music, "Viva la Polonia"!
"Poland and France – friendship, love, longing" is the title of the Fortcello concert that inaugurated this year's festival in the Palace of Kamieniec. Polish cellist Anna Mikulska and French pianist Philippe Argenty perfmed a programme composed of national works, sharing with the audience interesting anecdotes about the repertoire and its composers. Before the concert, the musicians met with the youngest listeners during a joint concert in the form of workshops.
On 7th July, the Michael Archangelo Church in Lewin Kłodzki will host a master organ recital by Jürgen Benkö, who will perform on the local organs after a 10-year period of renovation. The concert of the German organist will include works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Franck and Gigout, as well as improvisations on Polish church songs. The next day, Duo del Gesu will perform at the Żelazno Palace. Violinist Arnaud Kamiński and violist Krzysztof Tymendorf will present works of Mozart, Debussy, Saczko, Marais and Haydn. Both concerts will be preceded by workshops for children.
