The Director of the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia has a pleasure to announce the 7th edition of the International Composition Competition "Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta".

The subtitle of this year’s edition – Science & Fiction – alludes to the main theme of the 7th Sinfonietta Festival. The subject of the Competition is an original piece Sinfonietta per Sinfonieta for a string orchestra and theremin obbligato (max. ensemble formation: 6-5-4-4-1 / theremin; duration of the piece between 7 and 12 minutes).

The prize in the Competition is the premiere performance of the winning piece during the 7th Sinfonietta Festival (July 2021), subsequent performances in the 2021/2022 artistic season and professional audiovisual recording of the premiere performance.

As every year, recognized authorities in the field of composition were invited to the Competition’s Jury, including prof. Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa, prof. Eugeniusz Knapik and prof. Marcel Chyrzyński.

Applications should be submitted using the online form available on the orchestra's website no later than 20 June 2021, 11:59 pm (CEST).
