2016 edition of the "Music on the Heights" International Chamber Music Festival will be held from September 3 to 10 in Zakopane.

The main theme of this year’s programme is related to the concept of time in the widest possible sense. For this reason, it combines the compositions from different era, works in which time itself affects the form, and also the works which address time in its metaphysical aspects. For the first time in the Festival’s history, early music will be presented alongside contemporary music, both in their original versions (as so-called Historically Informed Performances) as well as modern arrangements.

The concerts will be performed by Polish and foreign chamber musicians, including Israeli clarinetist Shirley Brill, pianist Jonathan Aner, soprano Olga Pasiecznik, and the Royal String Quartet. The Festival’s artistic director is Paweł Mykietyn.
