Alban Berg Ensemble Wien performs in Warsaw

a Alban Berg Ensemble Wien will play their only concert in Poland on March 5, 2017 at the Władysław Szpilman Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw.

The ensemble was founded in 2016 by the members of the renowned string quartet Hugo Wolf Quartet, pianist Ariane Haering, and the musicians of the Wiener Symphoniker: Silvia Careddu and Alexander Neubauer. The name was given by the Alban Berg Foundation in recognition for their artistic attitude and approval of their artistic approach similar to the spirit of Alban Berg, ie. maintaining links to the past, while remaining open to new trends. A hundred years ago, Schönberg, Berg and Webern established the Society for Private Musical Performances with the intention of making carefully rehearsed and comprehensible performances of newly composed music available to genuinely interested members of the musical public. Alban Berg Ensemble Wien follows its artistic and performing standards, as well as openness to all kinds of novelties.

The concert programme includes works by Arnold Schönberg, Christoph Renhart and Krzysztof Penderecki (Quartet for clarinet and string trio).
