Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz invites you to the "New Year's Eve Concerts in Polish", which will be held on 30 and 31 December 2018 (at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.).
Well-known Polish melodies, like the spirited Moniuszko's Mazur or the dignified Kilar's Polonaise, seem to never become boring. The same applies to the pre-war songs of Henryk Wars, which were sung by the best singers of the time, such as Hanka Ordonówna, Eugeniusz Bodo, Mieczysław Fogg, or Robert Stolz. Also, good old hits from the silver screen, including the main theme from the movie Forgotten melody. These are just some of the musicial propositions which will constitute a programme of the "New Year's Concerts in Polish" at the Pomeranian Philharmonic.
The concerts will be performed by: Adam Zdunikowski – professor at the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music, a respected tenor regularly cooperating with foreign and Polish opera theaters; tenor Krzysztof Zimny – a graduate of the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz; baritone David Roy – a student of Adam Zdunikowski; Weronika Bochat – actress and vocalist for years associated with the ROMA Theater, winner of many major awards at prestigious song festivals; Karol Drozd – musical actor who performs in Poland and abroad. The Orchestra of the Pomeranian Philharmonic will be led by Maestro Kai Bumann, artistic director of the Philharmonic since 2015.
