Carillon Workshops in Gdańsk

Fontannie bije ten dzwonOrganizers of the Composition Competition for solo carillon work invite both musicians and amateurs to participate in the 2nd carillon workshops led by Monika Kaźmierczak on February 6, 2016 at 1.30 pm in St. Catherine’s Church (Museum of Tower Clocks, 10 Wielkie Młyny St.) in Gdańsk.

The workshops are the fringe event of the Composition Competition for solo carillon work which will serve as musical illustration for Hevelius Fountain in Gdańsk and should be suitable for performance on carillon at St. Catherine’s Church in Gdańsk (both for manual and automatic play). The competition is open to Polish composers. Applicants may enter more than one composition. Closing date: March 21, 2016

Organizers: City of Gdańsk, Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, GIWK (Gdańsk Water and Wastewater Infrastructure), Historical Museum of the City of Gdańsk and Polish Carillon Society.
