Christmas Organ Concert at the Łódź Philharmonic

The powerful, rich sound of the organs at the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź and the noble colour of the Choir of the Łódź Film Festival will create the atmosphere of a pre-Christmas concert on Sunday, 20 December 2020 at 4.55 p.m. The event will be broadcast free of charge on the Łódź Philharmonic's YouTube channel.

The programme will include works referring to the Christmas season. Organist Krzysztof Musiał will perform variations on the Christmas carol W żłobie leży by French composer Alexandre Guilmant, and the Polish fantasy Pasterka na Wawelu by Feliks Nowowiejski. The choir under the direction of Dawid Ber will present, among others, Pieśń o narodzeniu Pańskiem by Wacław of Szamotuły and Exsultate Deo by Alessandro Scarlatti. The performers will join forces in the carol Wśród nocnej ciszy and the medieval Christmas hymn Adeste fideles (Przybądźcie wierni), arranged by composer and organist Krzysztof Grzeszczak. The concert will be hosted by Piotr Matwiejczuk.
