The Krakow Opera invites you to the second edition of the cycle "Song – Theater of the Word", which will be entirely devoted to the presentation of Polish artistic song. The series will be inaugurated by a concert entitled "Home songbook. Songs and Ballads of Stanisław Moniuszko", which will take place on February 25, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the unique acoustics of Jan Haluszka Chamber at the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
The evening program will include songs and ballads by Stanisław Moniuszko, the author of nearly 300 songs and the father of the Polish national opera. Wioletta Chodowicz, Robert Gierlach, Michał Kutnik will perform as soloists along with Olga Tsymbaluk at the piano. An unusual opportunity to face the demanding genre of a song will have vocalists taking their first steps in professional career: Justyna Bluj, Daria Powszechki, Jarosław Bielecki. The artistic director of the project is Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha. The dramatic and artistic side of this special event, which blends music so closely and perfectly with the word, will be supervised by the artistic duo: Laco Adamik and Barbara Kędzierska.
