The second concert in tribute to Karol Rathaus will take place on the 12th of June, 2022 at 7.00 p.m. at the Galicia Jewish Museum, where some of composer’s works will be presented in Poland for the first time!
Karol Rathaus Ensemble premiered works such as Eine kleine Serenade, Op. 23 (1927), Mazurka (1941), Polish Polka (1941), Confused Intermezzo (Pole in Spain)/ Habanera and Mazurka (1941). The members of the Karol Rathaus Ensemble - Piotr Lato, Marcin Hałat, Aleksandra Hałat - and their guests: French horn player Paweł Cal, bassoon player Damian Lipień and trumpeter Piotr Nowak will perform.
The composer's path led from Tarnopol through Vienna, Berlin, London and Paris to the United States, which became his second homeland. He was an active member of American music organizations (including ISCM, American League of Composers from Austria, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), honorary vice-president of the Jewish Music World Center, he was also active in Polish organizations, including in the Music Committee of the Institute of Culture.
