Since 2019, the Cracow Philharmonic has been organizing a festival named after its Patron - one of the most outstanding Polish and world composers of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The prologue of this year's fifth edition of the "Szymanowski / Poland / World" Festival will take place on the 6th of April, 2024 at 6 p.m.
An opportunity to encounter Karol Szymanowski's music in the concert hall in Zwierzyniecka 1 will be a concert with the participation of the Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra and Women's Choir, who will perform the cycle of six Songs of a Mad Muezzin for voice and orchestra, Op. 42 to the words of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz. The solo part in this work will be performed by one of the most renowned Polish singers, Urszula Kryger.
Concert repertoire also includes the famous Planets Op. 32 by Gustav Holst and will be led from the conductor's desk by Martyn Brabbins.
